Note

One of the four launch titles of [Viz Media's](/publisher/48) [Haikasoru](/publisher/462) imprint, alongside *ZOO* by [Otsuichi](/staff/299), *Usurper of the Sun* by Nojiri Hosuke, and *The Lord of the Sands of Time* by [Ogawa Issui](/staff/537). In an interview published in the May 2014 issue of [Shueisha's](/publisher/1) *Miracle Jump* magazine, the author announced he was working on a sequel, though no further updates have been released since then. Loosely adapted into a 2014 American live-action film by Doug Liman, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The film differs significantly from the novel, particularly in the second half. Liman rejected the novel's title and wanted to name the film *Live Die Repeat*, but Warner Bros. Pictures decided to use that as the tagline, instead renaming the film *Edge of Tomorrow*. A sequel to the film has been announced, with the working title *Live Die Repeat and Repeat*. Adapted into a manga by [Obata Takeshi](/staff/13036) based on character designs by [ABe Yoshitoshi](/staff/607), and storyboarding by [Takeuchi Ryosuke](/staff/7156). Adapted into an American graphic novel by Nick Mamatas and illustrated by Lee Ferguson.

When the alien Mimics invade, Keiji Kiriya is just one of many recruits shoved into a suit of battle armor called a Jacket and sent out to kill. Keiji dies on the battlefield, only to be reborn each morning to fight and die again and again. On his 158th iteration, he gets a message from a mysterious ally--the female soldier known as the Full Metal Bitch. Is she the key to Keiji's escape or his final death?

Now a major motion picture starring Tom Cruise!
