Biography
Yen Press is an American publisher of manga, graphic novels, and light novels.
It was founded in 2006 by Kurt Hassler and Rich Johnson. Originally an imprint of Hachette Book Group, in 2016 it was spun off as a joint venture between HBG and Kadokawa Corporation with Kadokawa the majority shareholder with a 51% stake.
Aside from Japanese light novels and manga, Yen Press has also published Korean manhwa, webtoons, and novels, and original series. Since 2022, Yen Press is in a partnership with J-Novel Club to publish JNC's novels in print.
From July 2008 to December 2013, Yen Press published Yen Plus, a monthly manga anthology magazine. Originally published in print, it went digital-only in August 2010.
